Built becauseit should exist.
Conch is a private communication platform — messaging, voice, video, and social — built around the belief that people should be in control of their own conversations, their own feeds, and their own attention.
"Communication is one of the most human things we do. We couldn't understand why it had to work the way it does."
— The Conch Team
We started Conch because we kept running into the same problem: every major communication platform had made the same trade-off. They were free to use because someone else was paying — and what that someone else was paying for was access to you.
Your messages were scanned. Your behavior was profiled. Your feed was curated by an algorithm designed to keep you scrolling, not to show you what you actually asked to see. Your attention was the product.
We don't think communication has to work that way. People have always found ways to talk to each other, share things that matter, and build communities around shared ideas. None of that requires surveillance.
Conch exists to build the version of communication that should have existed all along.
How we got here.
The idea.
Fed up with communication platforms that treat conversations as inventory, we started asking what it would look like to build one that didn't.
The foundation.
Architecture designed around privacy from day one. Encryption, chronological feeds, and a business model that works without advertising.
Building Conch.
Messaging, voice, video, social, and communities — all in one platform built around a simple idea: you should be in control of your own communication.

Our values aren't marketing. They're constraints.
These aren't aspirational statements. They're the things we won't compromise on — the lines that define what Conch is allowed to become.
Privacy is the foundation.
Privacy isn't a setting or a tier. It's the starting point. Every decision we make about how Conch works begins with the question: does this protect the people using it?
Chronological is honest.
Showing you what happened, in the order it happened, is the most straightforward thing a social feed can do. We think that simplicity is worth protecting.
Subscription, not surveillance.
Our business works because people choose to pay for Conch — not because we sell information about them. That alignment matters. It changes what we build and why.
People, not engagement metrics.
We don't optimize for time spent in the app. We optimize for whether the people using Conch feel good about using it — whether it's actually serving them.
Simplicity is a feature.
Communication tools should get out of the way. The best version of Conch is one where the technology disappears and people are just talking to each other.
Build for the long run.
Trust takes a long time to earn and very little time to lose. We'd rather build Conch slowly and correctly than quickly compromise the things that make it worth using.
The people building Conch.
We're a small team that believes in what we're building. More introductions coming soon.

We're hiring.
If you believe communication platforms should serve people — not advertisers — we'd like to hear from you.
