Delete Your Conch Account

Your privacy includes the right to leave. You can permanently delete your Conch account at any time. Deleting your account removes your account and associated data from Conch, subject to limited information we may be required to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or financial recordkeeping purposes.

Delete your account from the Conch app

If you still have access to your Conch account, the fastest way to delete it is directly from the app.

  1. Open Conch and sign in.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Profile.
  4. Select Delete account.
  5. Confirm your password and follow the deletion confirmation steps.

Account deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be restored.

Conch also provides a separate privacy-request workflow under Settings → Privacy & Your Data → Request deletion. Privacy deletion requests currently include a 7-day cooling-off period before processing. This is different from deleting your account through Settings → Profile → Delete account, which is the immediate in-app account deletion path when you still have app access.

Can't access the app?

If you cannot access Conch, you can submit an account deletion request here. We will need to verify that you are the owner of the account before processing the request.

Never send us your password, recovery phrase, encryption keys, or other account secrets.

What happens to your data?

When your account deletion is completed, Conch deletes or de-identifies personal information associated with your account that is no longer necessary to provide the service.

Some information may be retained for a limited period when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, financial recordkeeping, legal obligations, or enforcement of our Terms of Service.

Because Conch uses end-to-end encryption for supported private messaging, Conch does not have access to the plaintext contents of those encrypted conversations in the ordinary course of providing the service.

Deleting your Conch account cannot necessarily remove copies of information that another user has already received, downloaded, or independently retained on their own device.

Subscriptions and billing

Deleting your Conch account does not necessarily cancel an active subscription automatically.

If you have a Conch subscription, manage or cancel it through Settings → Billing → Manage billing (Conch currently uses Stripe for consumer web billing).

If you subscribed through Google Play or the Apple App Store in the future, you may need to cancel that subscription through the applicable app store. Conch does not automatically cancel app store subscriptions on your behalf when you delete your account.
