Why I Built Conch

For years, I've felt increasingly uncomfortable using the very platforms we depend on to communicate.

Every message, every conversation, every interaction seemed to come with an invisible price: our privacy. I was tired of wondering who could read my messages, what data was being collected about me, and how much of my digital life was being analyzed, packaged, and turned into a marketing profile for someone else's profit.

Somewhere along the way, we stopped being the customers and became the product.

I believe our private conversations should remain private. We shouldn't have to wonder whether a company, an algorithm, or anyone else is listening. We shouldn't have to surrender our personal information just to connect with friends and family. And we shouldn't have to accept unnecessary surveillance or censorship as the price of participating in the digital world.

I'm tired of technology companies knowing more about our lives than we do. I'm tired of being told that giving up more privacy is simply the cost of convenience.

I don't believe privacy and convenience should be mutually exclusive.

That's why I started Conch.

I wanted to build a place where people could send messages, make calls, share moments, and stay connected without feeling like every interaction was another opportunity for someone to collect their data.

A platform built around the people using it, not the information that can be extracted from them.

Conch is my answer to an internet that has become too comfortable treating privacy as optional.

And while we're just getting started, the principle behind it will never change:

Your conversations belong to you. Your data belongs to you. Your digital life should belong to you.

You're the user. Not the product.
